HIV/Primary Care

Bendiner & Schlesinger, Inc. offers a comprehensive package designed to accommodate the nuances of HIV/Primary care programs. As a "niche specialist" in one-stop services to drug treatment programs and physicians, we extended the concept of a "bundled services package" to HIV clinics when the need arose in 1981. We are proud to be one of America's first independent HIV testing laboratories to provide specialized services to the HIV community.

In the detection and management of HIV, Bendiner & Schlesinger, Inc. provides state of the art molecular testing using branch chain DNA (bDNA). Our services include:

• HIV-1/HIV-2 antibody testing utilizing FDA-approved Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) for initial screening of Human Immunodeficiency Virus.

• Viral Load testing using FDA-approved branch chain DNA (bDNA) technology (VERSANT® HIV-1 RNA 3.0 Assay) from Bayer Diagnostics. This advanced assay quantifies viral RNA with unmatched precision and reliability, even for lower viral load values. These precise analyses allow physicians to target the most effective medication and treatment regimens (See Molecular Testing.

• HIV Genotype to identify variant types of HIV

• HIV virtual Phenotype to help identify treatment of resistant HIV variants

• T-Lymphocyte (T-cell) subset analyses using flow cytometry to monitor immune status to modify treatment regimens

• Ongoing primary care

At Bendiner & Schlesinger, Inc., we work closely with HIV treatment providers to create bundled testing packages that meet their multiple needs. Clients can depend on our clinical expertise with this patient population, and the ready availability of associated tests as deemed medically necessary covering opportunistic AIDS diseases, such as Hepatitis , Toxoplasmosis and Cytomegalovirus (CMV).
